Meet The Owner
I grew up fairly local in Ardmore Maryland in the house that my mother grew up in and that was my grandparents’ first home. The neighborhood had a dirt road that ended at their property but before I had moved into the home it had gotten developed and the house was now less than ½ a block away from the beltway. Most of the men in my family had been in the service. My father was a Marine, my stepfather was in the army, one of my grandfathers was in the army and the other in the Navy. They would all tell their “war stories” which always interested me and influenced my decision to join the service. Another influence on my decision to join the service was the fact that I enjoyed the fun/social parts of school but was never a big fan of sitting in the classroom. I then went into the Marine corps right after high school where I got shipped on December 26th, the day after Christmas. Big secret, I was originally going to enlist in the Army, but the army recruiter told me that it wasn’t as challenging as the Marines, and I’ve never been one to turn down a challenge! Most of the men in my family not only served but once they got out of the service they went into some form of trade, usually plumbing, steam fitting, or HVAC. Following in their footsteps, once I was finished serving, I went into the trade industry. Growing up with all these men in trades made it seem like second nature for me once I started doing it professionally, it was a natural fit. I later moved to Virginia in 2001 and since, I have moved around the area a few times. I now live in a small subdivision home with my wife of 18 years with three kids ages 17, 13, and 10.
I decided to go with the name Marines Service Co. for my company because I want people to know that I am a Marine. We have a reputation for being the best and getting the job done right and I want clients to know that they shouldn’t expect anything less when calling us. At Marines Service Co. we make sure not to look at our clients as another job or another paycheck; we make sure we treat our clients as if they are our only client, ensuring we are doing our best work with every job we do. We make sure to emphasize that without the clients we don’t have a company so attention to detail and upholding our reputation is what matters most. We work together as a team to make sure the customer is the top priority. I always tell my guys that I am the first one in and the last one out meaning that if they are working, I am working. If someone ever needs help on a job, it’s typically me going out to lend a hand. My guy’s top priority is to take care of the customer and my top priority is to take care of my guys.
Our team consists of not only marines but all branches of the military. Currently we have a good mix of military and civilians working here all performing high quality work. We aspire to be a company that veterans look too for a career after the military. Although customers love that we are a veteran owned and operated company, they love having quality work done even more. So far, I think we have delivered this, but we know there is always something we can improve on.
We are here to serve our clients and offer help whenever it is needed. We try to offer an old-fashioned level of service and that we answer questions when they are asked, we feel that we don’t always need to charge. When you call for us to come out to your home, we have a small dispatch fee of $30 that covers the cost of fuel and some of the technician’s time. I assure you there is no profit in this. Feel free to watch and/or ask questions, after all, it’s your home! We also warranty almost all our work for two years and we give a Lifetime Craftmanship Guarantee. If we do a job for a client and they can prove that it is not up to code at the time of service, we will come back out and do it again for free. We hope to be able to educate people on what is going on and what is involved so that you can possibly do the repairs yourself in the future if needed. If you do try to do these repairs on your own, I can’t stress this enough, know where your main water shut off is and make sure that it works before attempting anything. The best piece of advice I can give a homeowner is to know your limitations and to not be afraid to ask for help.
